Both thickening and thinning of protuberant lips is done as an out-patient procedure. The procedure takes up to 2 hours and is performed under local anesthesia.

Autologous Fat Injections
In this procedure, the patient's own fat cells are used to rectify problem areas where lack of subcutaneous tissue produces "sagging" or premature aging. Local anesthesia is possible for most regions (cheeks, forehead, temples, chin, and pubic area) but major procedures around the hips require general anesthesia and an in-patient stay of up to 2 days.

Surgical Excisions
Removal of "Fatty Apron" from the abdomen or disfiguring scars normally requires general anesthesia and an in-patient stay of up to 4 days. However, correction of prominent "Bat ears" can be done under local anesthesia.
